Athletics sweep twinbill

The Alley Stratford Athletics swept a doubleheader from the over-35 Charlottetown Domino Jays in Kings County Baseball League action Wednesday night.

Game 1 saw an 8-1 Athletics win with Jonathan Arsenault picking up the complete-game win over starter Bubba Macdonald. Dan O’Shea and Adam Smith had two hits each to lead the Athletics while Scott Ramsay had two hits to lead the Jays.

The A’s took Game 2 10-5. The winning pitcher was Smith with Steve Collins pitching two innings of relief for the save. Craig Lawlor was the losing pitcher with relief from John Burke.

A’s were led by Ryne Macisaac with three hits with Marshall Ellis and Ronnie de la cruz chipping in two hits each.

Greg Stapleton, Brodie Hughes and Kris O’Brien all had two hits to lead the Jays at the plate.
