Ath­let­ics sweep twin­bill

The Al­ley Strat­ford Ath­let­ics swept a dou­ble­header from the over-35 Char­lot­te­town Domino Jays in Kings County Base­ball League ac­tion Wed­nes­day night.

Game 1 saw an 8-1 Ath­let­ics win with Jonathan Arse­nault pick­ing up the com­plete-game win over starter Bubba Mac­don­ald. Dan O’Shea and Adam Smith had two hits each to lead the Ath­let­ics while Scott Ram­say had two hits to lead the Jays.

The A’s took Game 2 10-5. The win­ning pitcher was Smith with Steve Collins pitch­ing two in­nings of re­lief for the save. Craig Lawlor was the los­ing pitcher with re­lief from John Burke.

A’s were led by Ryne Macisaac with three hits with Mar­shall El­lis and Ron­nie de la cruz chip­ping in two hits each.

Greg Sta­ple­ton, Brodie Hughes and Kris O’Brien all had two hits to lead the Jays at the plate.
