Karen Rae Jones of Han­well, N.B. passed away peace­fully sur­rounded by loved ones on Thurs­day Au­gust 10, 2017. Born in Char­lot­te­town, P.E.I. on Fe­bru­ary 8th 1952, Karen was a daugh­ter of Eileen (MacFadyen) Ham­bly and the late Al­fred Ray­mond Ham­bly of Char­lot­te­town, P.E.I. In ad­di­tion to her beloved hus­band Ron­ald Jones and her mother Eileen Ham­bly, Karen is sur­vived by her sons, Greg Jones (Danielle) of Han­well, NB and Chris Jones (Misty) of Fred­er­ic­ton, N.B.; and by her daugh­ter Les­ley Pardy (Trevor) of Fred­er­ic­ton, N.B. Her grand­chil­dren, Cameron and Kiefer Jones, Mya Si­mon­son, Keaton, Hud­son, Beck­ham and Lon­don Pardy. Sis­ters, Donna Carr (Gor­don), Judy Fraser, and Jan­ice Beaton (David) all of Char­lot­te­town, P.E., and her brother Rod Ham­bly (Lana) of Kep­poch, P.E.I. along with nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews. She was pre­de­ceased by her fa­ther, Ray Ham­bly and her broth­erin-law Percy Fraser. Karen was a mem­ber of Park Royal United Church in Char­lot­te­town, P.E.I., where she was both bap­tized and mar­ried. She re­lo­cated with her hus­band and fam­ily to Fred­er­ic­ton N.B. in 1990 where she worked for the Royal Bank of Canada, and later be­came a ded­i­cated mem­ber of the Covey Basics fam­ily for many years, un­til her re­tire­ment last year. She en­joyed spend­ing time with her many grand­chil­dren, camp­ing, snow­shoe­ing, and trav­el­ing as well as evenings spent with friends. In ac­cor­dance with Karen’s re­quests there will be no vis­i­ta­tion, or fu­neral ser­vice. In lieu, “Cel­e­bra­tion of Life” Re­cep­tions will be held for fam­ily and friends at Cross­point Wes­leyan Church in Marysville NB on Wed­nes­day Au­gust 16th from 2 – 4 p.m. as well as at the Park Royal United Church in Sher­wood P.E.I. on Tues­day Au­gust 22nd, 2017 from 7 – 9 p.m. Ar­range­ments are be­ing han­dled by York Fu­neral Home.
