Woman dies in collision

Two-vehicle crash on Route 2 Sunday afternoon

A 56-year-old Mount Stewart woman was pronounced dead following a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon.

RCMP are still investigat­ing the collision, which occurred at approximat­ely 2:30 p.m.

An police spokespers­on said two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on Route 2 when they collided head-on.

The woman was the lone occupant of one of the vehicles.

The other vehicle had five occupants.

RCMP said all five were transporte­d to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatenin­g injuries.
