The funeral for Ian Smith was held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home Chapel where the funeral service was conducted by Reverend Dr. Gordon Matheson. Scripture readings were given by Rose Arsenault. During the service brother Allan Smith gave words of remembrance on behalf of the family in memory of Ian. CD music selections during the service chosen by the family were Amazing Grace, In the Garden and Go Rest High Upon That Mountain. The pallbearers were Allan Smith, Roger Smith, Robbie Smith, Brad Smith, Steven Dennis and Blair Wheatley. The flower bearers were Gail Dennis, Jackie Smith, Carol MacArthur and Rose Arsenault. Among those attending the service were staff of the Department of Highways and members of the Oyster Bed Bridge Women’s Institute. The interment took place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where Rev. Matheson held the graveside service.
