Book launch

“The Communitie­s of Lot 16 - 200 Years of Our History”, written by Donna Lyle will be launched on Thursday, Aug. 31, 7:30 p.m., at the Lot 16 Community Hall, Ferry Road. The launch will consist of a program, unveiling, book sale, signing and lunch. All welcome. The book is a project of the Lot 16 Seniors History Committee.

Competitio­n

The Acazing Talent Competitio­n will be held at the Évangéline Recreation Centre, Abram-Village, Aug. 31, 7:30 p.m. Admission: adults - $6, students $3, preschoole­rs – free.

Cards/Cribbage /Crokinole

Cash bingo is at the Montague Legion Br. 8, 15 Douses Rd., Thursdays, 7 p.m., with a 50/50 draw, a progressiv­e jackpot, canteen service and compliment­ary tea and coffee.

Cards, auction and 45s, are held at Stanhope Place

on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. The hall is at 2784 Bay Shore Rd.

Weekly summer card parties are Thursdays until Sept. 28 at the Milton Community Hall at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $3. Light lunch served.

Crokinole is Thursdays at the Hunter River Lions Hall, 7:30 p.m., with eight games, prizes and lunch for $4. No partner is needed.

Stratford weekly Cribbage, sponsored by the Stratford Lions Club, is at the Cotton Centre, 57 Bunbury Rd., Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Prizes are $100, $60 and $40. Admission: $6 per person; all are welcome. Proceeds go to Lions’ community projects. Call 902-5692409.
