Peacefully, on September 5, 2017, Bert Dykerman was called home to our Lord at age 89. Beloved husband of Ann Dykerman (Boschloo) for 62 years. Dad to Gerald (Janice Gallant), Eddy (Janet), Bernie (Pat), Wilma, Linda (Charlie) Burns, Betty Steenbeek, and Rob. Opa to Sarah (Gavin) Hall, Jeff (Katelyn) and Phil Dykerman; Craig (Sara), Matthew (Nadia), Katie (Chris) MacPhee, and Jennifer Dykerman; Travis (Marcie), and Tyler (Carlie Jay) Dykerman; Stephanie (Tim) Hart, Ryan (Catherine), Leeanne, Victoria, and Adam VanSpronse­n; Derek and Kyle Steenbeek; Andrea Burns. Great-Opa to Ronin and Stryder Dykerman; Jim, and Angus Hall; and Oscar Dykerman. Brother to Jan (Dini) of Village Green, Ab, Ben and Janna of Holland. Predecease­d by daughter-inlaw Joanne, son-in-law Tony and brothers Anton and Gerrit. Born and raised in Eefde, Holland, his interest in working the land brought him to Canada with his new bride in 1955. By 1979 he establishe­d Brookfield Gardens with his sons and in 2012 he was inducted into the Atlantic Agricultur­al Hall of Fame, recognized for his innovation and cooperatio­n in farming as well as encouragin­g other farmers, even as far away as Kenya with Farmers Helping Farmers. Bert was also a founding member of the Christian Reformed Church in Charlottet­own. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. Visitation Friday at the Christian Reformed Church, 153 Mount Edward Road from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Christian Reformed Church. Interment in Brookfield Cemetery. As expression­s of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Farmers Helping Farmers.
