The funeral for Molly Gallant/MacDonald, beloved wife of Stephen MacDonald of Meadowbank, was held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from the West Prince Funeral Home to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Albin Arsenault assisted by Rev. Eddie Cormier. Rev. Arsenault delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and farewell. The first reading was read by Margaret Fitzgerald. The second reading was read by Rita Kelly. The prayers of the faithful were read by Julie Avender. The choir sang under the direction of Velda Gallant accompanie­d by organist Anita Doucette. Procession­al hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. The Psalm was “Psalm of the Good Shepherd”. Communion hymn was “Come To The Water” and Abby Peters sang a solo “Beyond The Rain” accompanie­d on guitar. The farewell song was “Songs of the Angels” and the recessiona­l hymn was “Be Not Afraid”. The altar servers were Kathleen Doucette, Helen McKenna and Kathy Laming. The eucharisti­c ministers were Stella Gallant, Francis and Claudia Gaudet. Attending the funeral were staff from Beach Grove Home, Charlottet­own and the Miminegash Fire Department who formed an honor guard. All who attended the funeral were considered as honorary pallbearer­s. The active pallbearer­s were Dustin Gunn, Matthew Langille, Brandon Millar, Robbie Gallant, Rhael Gaudet and Peter Gaudet. The flowerbear­ers were Samarah Gallant, Seawna Ramsay, Alissa Langille and Theresa Arsenault. Interment was in the church cemetery.
