Fiery fiddling friends take the stage
With her second-last show of the season tonight, Courtney Hogan decided to include one of P.E.I.’s most successful musicians and fellow fiddler.
Few could argue that Richard Wood would be one of P.E.I.’s most well-known and accomplished musicians. He has played all across Canada, as well as the U.S., Europe, Japan and Australia, and has appeared on “David Letterman”, “Good Morning America” and at Carnegie Hall. He has also performed for distinguished guests such as Canada’s Prime Minister, the Queen of England and the Emperor of Japan.
The fiery fiddlers will be joined on stage by Wood’s touring singer and guitarist Gordon Belsher. No stranger to the music scene, Belsher has entertained audiences for over 40 years, playing at concerts, conventions, ceilidhs and pubs around the world
Also performing will be one of P.E.I.’s most accomplished step dancers Janelle Banks. She has been on stages all over Atlantic Canada, including performances with one of P.E.I.’s most well-known musicals “Anne & Gilbert-The Musical”.
The ceilidh begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Emerald Community Centre. The Emerald Boxcar Pub & Grill will be open for food and drinks starting at 5:30 p.m., including a new express menu. Admission is at the door, and the venue is licensed and air conditioned. All ages are welcome. CDs, 50/50 tickets, souvenir postcards and T-shirts will also be available.
