Fundraiser­s

Giant Emyvale community yardsale is Sept. 9. 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a grand assortment of items for sale, as well as a silent auction table, barbecue and light canteen service. It is at the Emyvale Rec Centre, 2155 Kingston Rd.

The Church Mouse Thrift Shop will hold a special sale of fabric, quitling panels and cottons, notions and knitting and craft supplies on Saturday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m. to noon, in the church hall, 391 Nelson St., Crapaud, St. John’s Anglican Church. Proceeds will support Sr. Helen Warman and her ministry to women in Papua New Guinea. Through classes organized by Sr. Helen women receive training in drafting patterns, sewing and tailoring. These newfound skills provide employment and funds to assist their families. The shop will accept donations of fabric, thread, notions, patterns, yarn and other craft during the shops hours of operation (Fridays and Saturdays) or phone 902-658-3162 to arrange a drop-off time.

Recreation

Learn to play pickleball on Saturday, Sept. 9, 9-11 a.m. at Miltonvale Community Park, 413 Sleepy Hollow Rd. (Rain date: Sept 16). Instructio­n will be provided by the Cornwall area pickleball players. Call the Miltonvale Park Council office, 902-368-3090, or Ernie, 902940-5908.

District 10 Al-Anon Family Group - Sea of Hope will be having its 47th Al-Anon anniversar­y on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2 p.m., at St. Augustine Church. (St. Monica’s Chapel), 2190 Church Rd., Rustico.
