The funeral for Celine Brazel was held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from Belvedere Funeral Home to St. Patrick’s Church where the mass was presided over by Fr. Augustine Ignasimuth­u and assisted by Fr. Joe Brazel. Fr. Augustine Ignasimuth­u proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The altar servers were Patrick Duffy and Sydney MacDonald. The cross bearer was Francis Murnaghan. Celine’s friends, Ken and Marie Nantes brought the gifts to the altar. The Eucharisti­c Ministers were Isabel Quinn and Gloria Murnaghan. The readings were proclaimed by grandson; Matthew Reid and niece; Lisa Doyle MacBain. May Doyle, goddaughte­r and niece, led the Assembly in the Prayers of the Faithful. The organist was Brenda Gallant. During the mass, the St. Patrick’s Church Choir led the Assembly in singing Here I am Lord, The Lord is My Shepherd, Because He Lives, Be Not Afraid, Songs of the Angels and How Great Thou Art. Violinist, Matthew Reid, played Nearer My God to Thee and Amazing Grace for the Meditation. Pallbearer­s were Brady Doyle, Larry Doyle, Jim Doyle, Kevin Doyle, Trevor Doyle, Randy Reid, Clarence Driscoll and Kevin Gallant. An honor guard was formed by the St. Patrick’s CWL. Interment took place in Mount Ryan Cemetery. Those attending the funeral liturgy included representa­tives of the PEI Liquor Control Commission, Camp Gencheff and St. Patrick’s CWL. Following the interment, everyone was invited to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshmen­ts at the Fort Augustus Rec Centre. St. Patrick’s CWL held a Prayer Service at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
