Chevys continue to roll

The Summerside Bantam A Chevys ran their playoff record to 3-0 with a couple of wins this past weekend and have clinched a spot in next weekend’s Final Four Championsh­ips.

The squad started with a win over the Bedeque Blue Jackets.

The Chevys jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and went on to defeat the Blue Jackets 12-6.

Summerside starting pitcher Andrew Cameron picked up the win, allowing only 2 runs on 3 hits in 4 innings of work.

He struck out 5 and walked 3.

Cameron received relief help from Ty Newman (1.0 inning pitched, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 strikeout) and Kaden McInnis (2.0 innings, 3 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts).

Cameron Mitchell started for Bedeque (2.0 innings, 6 runs, 0 hits, 7 walks, 1 strikeout).

He received relief help from Colton Lowther (1.0 IP, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 strikeout), Zack Jones (2/3 IP, 2 runs, 1 hit, 4 walks, 1 strikeout) and Jaxon Wood (2 1/3 IP, 3 runs, 2 hits, 4 walks, 5 strikeouts).

Summerside was led offensivel­y by Sam Gallant (2-2, 2 singles, walk, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored), Kaden McInnis (1-1, single, 2 walks, 1 RBI, 3 runs), Jordan Arsenault (1-1, single, 2 walks, 1 run), Cameron Payner (1-3) and Ty Newman (3 walks, 3 runs). Bedeque was lead by Zack Jones (1-2, double, 2 RBIs), Mark MacCormack (1-3, 1 RBI, 1 run), Ella Nicholson (1-1, single, 2 walks, 2 runs) and Mitchell (1-3, 1 run)

Summerside 15, Charlottet­own 0

The Chevys had no problems in their game against the Charlottet­own Royals, steamrolli­ng to a 15-0 shutout.

Summerside scored 5 runs in the 1st, 2nd and 5th innings en route to the victory.

Chevys starter Carter Ripley threw the complete game shutout, allowing 3 hits, 5 walks and struck out 5. Charlottet­own pitchers were Daniel Ross (2.0 IP, 10 runs, 7 hits) and Cameron Murray (3.0 IP, 5 runs, 5 hits)

The Chevys were led at the plate by Cameron Paynter (3-3, 2 RBIs, 2 runs), Matt MacInnis (2-3, 3 RBIs, 1 run), Connor Costain (2-2, double, single, walk, 1 RBI, 2 runs), Dylan Gilfoy (1-3, triple, 2 RBIs, 1 run) and Lance Murphy (1-2, single, 1 walk, 1 RBI, 1 run). Ross, 2-2 and Murray 1-1 led the Royals offense.
