MacInnis returns to York on Sept. 17

Sunday Night Shenanigan­s, hosted by Judy MacLean, at the York Community

Centre, will welcome P.E.I. musician Billy MacInnis to the final show/ceilidh of the season on Sunday, Sept. 17.

Known as Stompin’ Tom’s fiddle player, MacInnis is a third generation fiddler who has been performing since the age of seven.

He has toured coast to coast and in 2004 he began touring with Stompin’ Tom

Connors playing fiddle, guitar and piano for nine years until the Canadian Icon’s passing in 2013.

MacInnis has several recordings to his credit. His most recent, “Live At The Trailside” has been one of the most successful to date.

The CD features many favorite tunes that MacInnis likes to play, plus a few original numbers including the “Bill Acorn Reel” and the “Judy MacLean Shuffle”. He was also a featured special guest at the Stompin’ Tom Festival where he was joined by bandmates Remi Arsenault and Leon Gallant. Gallant will accompany fiddler Billy MacInnis at Sunday Night Shenanigan­s.

Also on the bill, are P.E.I.’s Country Gentleman Lester MacPherson and the Saunders Sisters (Danielle and Isabelle). Special guest emcee is Bill Acorn former host of Bill’s Country Jamboree.

The evening includes a 50/50, light lunch as well as door prizes.
