It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Marita Doucette (nee Doiron), at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottet­own, on Monday, September

18, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, aged 87. Marita was the beloved wife of Edward Doucette; mother of Anna (Ray), Paul, Patty (Stephen) and Marina; and grandmothe­r of Kyle (Jessica), Kristen, Nick and Jenna. She is also survived by her sister, Stella Blanchard; brother, Edgar Doiron (Pat); brothers-in-law, Yvon Dionne, Alyre Doucette; sistersin-law, Norma MacDonald, Fran MacDougall (Mel) and Ella Doucette; and many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her parents, Stanislaus and Matilda (Pineau) Doiron; siblings, Joe Doiron (Josie),Vince Doiron, Delma Garnhum (Edward) and Louise Dionne; brothers-in-law, Cyril Doucette, Alfred Doucette, Rannie MacDonald and Edward Blanchard; sisters-in-law, Rita Carragher (Eugene), Anna Doucette, Marie Bradford (Hal) and Louise Doucette (Ted). Marita was a wonderful and kind hearted person who always enjoyed life to the fullest. She had a great love for her family which was brightened by their many visits to the farm. She enjoyed playing bingo and a good game of cards with family and friends. We will miss her great sense of humour and her bright smile, but most of all her presence in our lives. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 New Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Church Cemetery following the service. If so desired, memorial donations in Marita’s memory to the Palliative Care Centre or the St. Augustine’s Cemetery fund would be appreciate­d.
