David James Monaghan it is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all; in his home in Charlottetown on Friday September 22nd. David was born July 25th, 1947 and leaves to mourn: Maxine Henry, his two children Patrick (Elycia) Monaghan, Charlotte (Alexander Clark) Monaghan, grandson Eli Monaghan, sister Bodene (David) Corbitt, brother George (Rita) Monaghan, niece (Lori) and nephew (Mark), and many cousins. He was predeceased by parents George and Eugenia Monaghan, and infant daughter, Sheena Monaghan. David graduated from St. Dunstan’s University in 1969 with a B.BA, and worked for many years at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. After retirement David volunteered regularly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was very active in various groups as well as serving on the Property and Financial Committee of St. Dunstan’s Basilica where he was a devoted parishioner. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Monday October 2, 2017 with Funeral mass at St. Dunstan’s Basilica at 10 a.m. If so desired memorial donations to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
