The Murray Harbour Community Center is hosting a special gospel ceilidh on Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m., at the centre, 1382 Main St., Murray Harbour. Performers include Len Buell, Wayne MacLean, Edna MacMaster, Jo-Anne Ford, Michael Buell, Louis MacKay, Mel Giddings, Kenny Chapmen, Madeline MacKinnon, Skye MacNeill, Lynn Herring, Aaron Tardiff and Tom Clark. Ceilidhs are Fridays at St. Peters Circle Club, St. Peters, 7:30-11 p.m., with local entertainm­ent. Admission is $4.

Ceilidh at the Irish Hall Sept. 29, 8 p.m., features the Fiddle Summit, an array of fiddlers hosted by Ward MacDonald that includes Allan MacDonald, Sheila MacKenzie, Nick van Ouwerkerk and Trevor Profitt. Irish music session with Roy Johnstone and friends is at the Old Triangle in Charlottet­own, Sundays, 2-5 p.m. Players are welcome.

A ceilidh is Oct. 1, 7 p.m., at Dunstaffna­ge School Centre. It is hosted by Roadmaster­s’ band, with Ivor Price, Wayne Diamond, Theo Wiegers and Dave Moore. Guest entertaine­rs include Kay Arsenault, Lou Doiron, Glenn McCabe, Stan Paquett and Lorraine Lynch. Admission is $8 and includes 50/50 draw and lunch. It is wheelchair accessible.

Tip Er Back is hosting a ceilidh at Afton Community Centre on Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m., with special guests Sheila MacKenzie and Laurel Drake, as well as returning guest Darlene Bradley. Afton Community Centre is on Route 19 in New Dominion. There will be a 50/50 draw. Admission is at the door, and all are welcome.

Ceilidh in the City is Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m., at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre, 7 Pond St., Charlottet­own. The lineup includes a Thanksgivi­ng gospel ceilidh with Dino Dunsford and Kelley Mooney. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Canteen services are available. A 50/50 draw supports local charities.

Lot 7 ceilidh is Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m., at St. Marks Hall, Burton, featuring Peggy Perry-Clinton, Alphy Perry and family. An Irish lunch is served at intermissi­on. There is a door prize, a 50/50 draw and a gift for the person who travelled the farthest.

An informal, acoustic traditiona­l music session is Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., at the Old Triangle, Charlottet­own. Players and dancers are welcome.

QCONCERTS

UPEI Music Department’s Recital Series presents Christiann­e Rushton, mezzo soprano, and Robert Kortgaard, piano, in Exploring Canadian Compositio­ns for Voice and Piano at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, UPEI, Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are adults and seniors, $20, and students, $15, and are on line at http://upeirecita­la.bpt.me.

Songwriter­s’ Circle and Jam Night is Sept. 30, 7 p.m., at the Stompin’ Tom Centre in Skinners Pond. Folk/country musician Patrick Murray based out of Moncton, N.B., lands in Charlottet­own on his Maritime tour on Oct. 1. Murray plays Baba’s Lounge at 8 pm alongside P.E.I. troubadour and Music P.E.I. nominee Brian Dunn. The night will be capped off with the band Crown Lands from Ontario.

A variety concert, featuring On The Road Again with Ernie Gallant, Claude Gaudet, John Campbell, Joe Lawless and Cindy Ellands-Arsenault is Oct. 2, 7-9 p.m., at the Summerside Legion.
