Ceilidh in the City presents Rockin’ in the Harvest

-

The Oct. 18 edition of Ceilidh in the City will be a night sure to keep guests dancing in their seats as three musical guests grace the stage.

The show, named Rockin’ in the Harvest, will feature the music of Terry Dunsford from the Island groups The Classics and Those Dunsford Boys, as well as Scott White and Steve Guy, who are members the award-winning group Fallback which is a 1950s and ’60s rock ’n’ roll tribute band.

With a music career dating back to the late ’60s, Dunsford has been performing across P.E.I for many years. Known for his powerful vocal range, he has no trouble belting out powerful dance tunes and classic rock ’n’ roll ballads.

Joining him on stage are two other Island musicians who have been creating a real buzz with their group Fallback, which is a Music P.E.I. nominee. FallBack has an album of original songs inspired by the 1950s and ’60s, and the group is having fun with Thursday night shows at the Centre Belle Alliance in Summerside.

White is long-time Island singer/song writer and has played in groups like Mr. Burns and Nuemen. Guy is a talented saxophone player who also plays in other groups like The West End Blues Band and Whiskey Business. Both White and Guy also play in the group Fall Guys.

They will be joining the weekly hosts of the ceilidh — Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin — at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre, 7 Pond St., Charlottetown. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the music starting at 7:30 p.m. General admission is at the door. There will also be a canteen service operated by the catering staff at Holy Redeemer, as well as 50/50 draw in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund, which supports various Island charities and families in need.

Additional information on this and other shows is available by calling Docherty at 902-5691133 or Knox at 902-569-3327 or going online at facebook.com/CeilidhInTheCity.
