A free slideshow and talk by the MacPhail Woods Ecological Forestry Project is Oct. 19, 7 p.m., at Confederation Centre Public Library. Travel through time exploring how the Island was formed and learn about the native ecosystems of P.E.I., as well as their inhabitants, both flora and fauna, with a special focus on the Acadian forest. A free Taste and Learn….Heart Healthy Soups! class is Oct. 20, 11 a.m. to noon, at Sobeys Allen Street, Charlottetown. Join the Sobeys Pharmacy dietitian and learn to prepare tasty recipes. Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole
The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, is having a Cribbage tournament on Oct. 19. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. with games at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for non-members. There will be a 50/50 draw and prizes for first, second and third. Partners are not required but are recommended.
