The P.E.I. Pops, under the direction of Leo Marchildon, presents an eclectic mix of magical and spooky fare Oct. 22, 3 p.m., St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Prince Street, Charlottetown. There will be an encore presentation of his symphonic tribute to P.E.I. fiddle music, “Canada, Our Dear Home” celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday, as well as music from “Phantom of the Opera”, “Harry Potter”, Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”, Walt Disney’s “Fantasia” and more. A Singin’ for Seeds concert is Oct. 22, 7 p.m., to raise money to help people experiencing hunger in the developing world. The Summerside Bluegrass Fall Festival is Nov. 3-5 at the Causeway Bay Convention Centre in Summerside. Music begins Friday at 12:30 p.m. with the opening ceremony set for 6:10 p.m. followed by a weekend of open mike sessions, workshops, after-hour jams and a total of 28 stage performances over the course of the weekend.

A benefit dance in support of Jan Nation-MacKinnon is Oct. 21, 7 p.m. to midnight, at Murphy’s Community Centre, 200 Richmond St., Charlottetown. Money raised will go to help with costs for Nation-MacKinnon who has bone cancer and is unable to work. A donation of $5 is requested. Event includes silent auction, 50/50 draw, with music by MC Company and Scott Parsons.
