The annual CWL “Praise The Lord In Song Concert” at Holy Redeemer Church is Oct. 29, 2 p.m., featuring the St. Peter’s Cathedral Chancel Choir, St. Augustine’s Choir and Folk Group, the Forte Men’s Choir, the “Sequence” quartet, Sylvia Mutch, Lily and Ava Rashed with their compositio­n, “I Am Worth It”, and other Island artists. The Summerside Bluegrass Fall Festival is Nov. 3-5 at the Causeway Bay Convention Centre in Summerside. Music begins Friday at 12:30 p.m. with the opening ceremony set for 6:10 p.m. followed by a weekend of open mike sessions, workshops, after-hour jams and a total of 28 stage performanc­es over the course of the weekend.

A benefit dance in support of Jan Nation-MacKinnon is Oct. 21, 7 p.m. to midnight, at Murphy’s Community Centre, 200 Richmond St., Charlottet­own. Money raised will go to help with costs for Nation-MacKinnon who has bone cancer and is unable to work. A donation of $5 is requested. Event includes silent auction, 50/50 draw, with music by MC Company and Scott Parsons.

A benefit dance for the family of Carl Shoemaker, featuring the music of Phase II and Friends, is 9 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 20, at Murphy’s Community Centre in Charlottet­own.
