Attack, Warriors post victories

The Central Attack and Prince County Warriors posted homeice victories in the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League.

The Attack defeated the MidIsle Matrix 7-3 on Saturday afternoon while the Warriors won by an identical score over the Eastern Express on Friday night.

At the O’Leary Community Sports Centre, the Warriors held period leads of 1-0 and 4-2.

Offensivel­y, Frederick Morency had a goal and three assists while Ethan Riley and Donovan Arsenault each netted braces to lead the Warriors. Jack Reilly and Marshall Gallant each added a goal and an assist as the Warriors improved to 2-0 (won-lost).

Jack Campbell (2) and Seth MacLeod (1-1) replied for the Express (0-2).

Aiden Williams recorded the goaltendin­g win.

Attack 7 Matrix 3

At Simmons Sport Centre in Charlottet­own, Alex Graham recorded four points – one goal and three assists – to pace the Attack (2-0).

Jacob Squires (2), Kal White (1-2), Tanner MacLean (1-1), Matt McQuaid and Josh Lund rounded out the Attack’s coring.

Reese Wyand, Harrison James and Angus Beaton counted for the Matrix (0-2).

The Attack led 2-1 after the first period, and then outscored the Matrix 4-1 in the middle frame to take a 6-2 cushion into the final stanza.

Winning goaltender was Jack Howatt.
