Presentations made as Drive For Charity comes to an end for 2017
Cheques totalling $13,400 were presented to charities Saturday at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park as the Drive for Charity came to a close.
The event featured 11 of Prince Edward Island’s top harness drivers, based on 2016 statistics from Charlottetown and Summerside racetracks. The drivers were partnered with Island businesses, who donated money after each victory to their charity during the promotion.
More than $70,000 has been donated through the promotion since it started in 2012.
This year’s promotion ran from June 1 to Oct. 29 at both Island racetracks.
