Presentati­ons

Philip Davis will give a lecture at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Charlottet­own, on Nov. 7, 7 p.m. He attended the recent Passchenda­ele Centenary Commemorat­ion in Belgium as the descendant of a soldier who fought in this First World War battle. He will discuss its significan­ce. Refreshmen­ts will be served, with a freewill offering going to the Legion Poppy Fund. All are welcome.

The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, is having a brown bag lunch on Nov. 8, 11:30 a.m. Occupation­al therapist Jane Macnutt will present Fall Prevention in the Home. Topics to be discussed include personal traits which may contribute to falling, environmen­tal risk factors of falling and how to reduce the risk of falling. She will also explain what to expect in an inhome occupation­al therapy assessment. There will be a draw for those in attendance to win a free home assessment.

The Seniors Active Living Centre,

Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, is having a Remembranc­e Day presentati­on on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. Alban LeClair will share family experience­s and memories from the war. A retired DVA employee, he will also talk about veterans’ experience­s upon their return.

Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

An ACBL sanctioned duplicate game is Tuesdays, 7-10 p.m., at the Haviland Club, Charlottet­own, with a guaranteed partner and fun play, as well as a mini lesson at 6:30 p.m.

Kensington Lions Crib is every Tuesday at the Kensington Legion, 30 Garden Ave., 7:30 p.m.

Community of Afton – Auction 45s is Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m., at Afton Community Centre, New Dominion. Lunch will be served

Weekly card parties (45s singles) are at Tracadie Community Centre, Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. There is a toonie pot, and a light lunch will be served.

Vernon River Tuesday night card play at St. Joachim Parish Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Scrabble is played at the Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, on Wednesdays, 1 p.m.

Auction tournament is Wednesdays at the North Rustico Lions Club, 1 p.m. Cost is $10, per team. Lionettes will run the 50/50 draw.
