Jeremy David Stretch of Long Creek has been identified as the ATV driver who was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash near Kinkora early Sunday morning.

Stretch, aged 41, was the husband of Sheila Greene and father of Zachary and was the son of Leith and Heather Stretch.

RCMP said the crash occurred at the intersection of the Fredericton Station Road and the Kinkora Road when the man drove his vehicle across the highway and struck the ditch on the other side.

He had been travelling by himself at the time and was located by a friend who went looking for him when he didn’t arrive at his destination.

The RCMP is continuing its investigation and contributing factors have not been confirmed at this time.

Completed funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Belvedere Funeral Home in Charlottetown.

This was the second fatal motor vehicle accident in several days on P.E.I.

On Friday night, a 34-yearold Georgetown area man died and a 33-year-old woman from Charlottetown was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a singlevehicle accident in Alberry Plains.

RCMP said the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the rollover accident that occurred at the intersection of Route 3 and the Glencoe Road. Police said the accident happened at 8:15 p.m.

The coroner’s office and the RCMP are continuing their investigations and a traffic analyst attended and will be completing a scene examination.

Road conditions were not a factor in the collision.

RCMP, Vernon River Fire Department, Island EMS and Department of Highways were at the scene.
