Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Darlene passed away peacefully at her home in York Point on Friday, November 10, 2017. She will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Robert, her children

Diana (Bobby

Burns) and her fur baby Chester. With all her heart Darlene loved and spoiled her four grandchild­ren Jace, Ainsley, Kenzie and Nealah. Darlene’s loving family includes her mother Marjorie (Betts) Silliker; her sisters Gayle (Sid Lunn), Gennine (Dave) and Cindy Schurman; her brother Wade (Susan) and her brotherin-law Alfred Dennis (Marlene). She was predecease­d by her father Robert, sister Gloria Dennis and beloved niece Melissa Lank. She will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Darlene was born in O’Leary on April 13, 1959. In her early years she enjoyed her time on the family farm, figure skating and hanging out with her many friends. Darlene enjoyed a long and outstandin­g career at Veteran’s Affairs Canada. She had a love for life, travel and being outside especially in her garden or on the water. Darlene had a huge heart and helped so many throughout her life. Her wisdom, friendship and smile will be missed by many. Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home for visiting hours on Monday 4-7 p.m. The funeral will be held Tuesday with funeral service at Burnside Presbyteri­an Church in Clyde River at 11 a.m. Interment in Burnside Presbyteri­an Church Cemetery. True to Darlene’s desire to help others, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Provincial Integrated Palliative Care Program.
