ARMY GUN SALUTE TODAY

-

Members of the P.E.I. Regiment, Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, will fire a 15-round gun salute to open the provincial legislature session today.

The salute will take place at 1:45 p.m. at the George Coles Building in Charlottetown and will be fired from two 105-mm LG 1 Mark II Howitzers using blank ammunition, which will give off loud noise and some smoke.

The regiment says this activity will not pose a significant disturbance to the community.

Following the salute, Lt.-Gov. Antoinette Perry will deliver the Speech from the Throne inside the legislative chamber.
