Richard Ger­ard Cormier dies in eastern P.E.I. car crash

Richard Ger­ard Cormier, 34, of Ge­orge­town has been iden­ti­fied as the vic­tim of a fa­tal sin­gle-ve­hi­cle rollover in Al­berry Plains late last week.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened Fri­day at 8:15 p.m. at the in­ter­sec­tion of Route 3 and the Glen­coe Road.

An­other oc­cu­pant of the ve­hi­cle, a 33-year-old woman from Char­lot­te­town, was taken to hos­pi­tal with se­ri­ous in­juries.

The coro­ner’s of­fice and the RCMP are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

A traffic an­a­lyst also at­tended and will be com­plet­ing a scene ex­am­i­na­tion.

Road con­di­tions were not a fac­tor in the col­li­sion.

Cormier is the fa­ther of two boys, Ad­den and Rayo.

He is also sur­vived by his par­ents, Ger­ald and Jean Cormier, and sis­ters Lind­say Crane and Corinne Cormier.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be on Thurs­day, Nov. 16, 4-8 p.m., at Fer­gu­son Lo­gan Mon­tague Fu­neral Home, with a fu­neral ser­vice on Fri­day at 10 a.m. from the fu­neral home chapel.

The ser­vice will also be streamed live on the fu­neral home’s web­site, fer­gu­son­lo­gan.com.
