The Martha Spirituality Centre at SDU Place on Great George Street is hosting a day of retreat and reflection for men on Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The theme is “Men of the Beatitudes.”

The retreat is open to all men who desire to take some time apart from the hustle of daily life to reflect on beatitude living. Indeed, blessed are those who believe that they are called to be people of the beatitudes. Beatitudes, the teaching of Jesus, are an invitation to a way of living that brings true happiness-an inward and outward peace. The beatitudes also call people to a radically new way of living when we centre our lives on God.

“We become transformed, being called to a deep, authentic, and lasting joy as we find our true identity as God’s people chosen to have life to the full,” says a release.

This reflection day is organized by Gilles Michaud, a team member of the Martha Spirituality Centre and a man dedicated to male spirituality. The retreat facilitator is Sr. Debbie Peters who is also a team member of the Spirituality Centre. The day will consist of time for group prayer and discussion, time for silent reflection, spiritual music, and input from the facilitator.

The fee is $30 and participants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch and beverages will be provided. Participants may register by calling 902-3673103 or messaging srgemma@ eastlink.ca on or before Nov. 24.
