Phase II and Friends kick off Christmas concert season

-

This year’s first concert of the Christmas season for Phase II and Friends is at Westisle Composite High School on Nov. 30, beginning at 8 p.m.

Those who love the classics can expect to hear “Silent Night”, “When a Child is Born”, “Christmas In Killarney” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. The band is also happy to introduce a couple of less commonly known titles such as “Christmas Started With A Child” and the Christmas version of “Hallelujah”, as well as a wide variety of other music.

The regular members of Phase II – Gerry Hickey Ed Young, Blaine Murphy, Pat King and John McGarry – will be joined by special guests Keila Glydon and Jeanie Campbell.

“We’ve always been known for our versatility, but the girls take that another step with their excellent individual voices and their solid and tasteful harmonies,” says Hickey, Phase II’s long-serving front man.

“We are so looking forward to our first performance of the season, and our first performance ever in this great venue. We hope to meet lots of new folks who love music as much as we do.”

There will be some tickets available at the door. The CD, “Christmas With Phase II and Friends”, will also be on sale.

The group also has three more concerts planned. The annual Guild concert with Phase II and Friends is already sold out, but there are two additional Christmas concerts in the Charlottetown area. Home For Christmas will be presented at the West River United Church on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at the church office or at the door. On Dec. 10, the same program will be presented at the Central Queens United Church at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. Both of these shows are fundraisers for the individual churches.
