Fundraiser­s

The Holland College Hurricane’s Watch Club is hosting its first ever Holiday Pancake Breakfast, Dec. 2, 7-10 a.m., at the Sobeys Extra Community Room in Stratford. All proceeds made will go towards the QEH Foundation to purchase some much-needed equipment for the hospital. Tickets can be purchased at the QEH Foundation office, the CCE front desk at the college and at Sobeys the day of the event.

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with Santa

is Dec. 2, 8-11 a.m., in the community room of the Summerside Superstore. This is a fundraiser for Special Olympics athletes and coaches. Coffee, tea, juice and two slices of ham are included. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for six years and under. Bring a camera for a picture with Santa.

The annual St. Pius X CWL Christmas tea and bake sale Dec. 2, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the MacKenzie Room, lower level of the church in Charlottet­own. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Luncheon admission is $5 each. All are welcome. Proceeds are in aid of Christmas charities.

The Beach Grove Home residents’ council Christmas Fair

is Dec. 2, 2-4 p.m., at Beach Grove Home, 200 Beach Grove Rd., Charlottet­own. Items for sale include Christmas crafts, baked goods, preserves, fudge, etc. Drop by and enjoy a hot cup of tea and a sandwich/sweet plate for $4. Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

Hampshire card parties are held at Hampshire Hall on Saturdays at 7:30 pm.

Community

A seniors roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings is being put on by the Seniors Group of Holy Redeemer at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre on Pond Street, Charlottet­own, Dec. 5, 4:30 p.m. The price is $13. Tickets can be reserved by calling David, 902-8921558, by the 5 pm. deadline on Dec. 3. Call early as this dinner has sold out before the deadline many times in the past.

Special Christmas event

Central Queens United Church Sunday school will be presenting a live nativity event in the church parking lot, Dec. 3, a beautiful and spiritual event for the whole family. There are three showings — 6 p.m., 6:20 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. Light refreshmen­ts will be provided in the church. Admission is a free will offering.
