GAUTHIER, Carol Elizabeth
The funeral for Carol Gauthier, beloved daughter of the late John and Helen (Blanchard) Gauthier, of Charlottetown and formerly of Rustico, was held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico. The presider for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend George Palamattam, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by her family. The first reading, from Ecclesiastes, was addressed by Karen Trainor. The second reading, from Romans, was addressed by Lori Doiron-Fitzpatrick. Prayers of the Faithful were led by Cameron Trainor. The altar servers were James Donnelly, Peter Gallant and Marion Murphy. Marie Doiron, Linda Gallant and Joseph Gallant assisted Father Palamattam as Eucharistic ministers. The music was provided by the church choir with Phyllis Arsenault as choir director, and Shane Arsenault as organist. The hymns were Entrance, “Amazing Grace”; Psalm, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”; Gospel Acclamation, “Alleluia”, with Janet Cox as cantor; offertory, “You Are My Saviour”, sung by Phyllis Arsenault; communion, “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman”; commendation, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessional, “How Great Thou Art”. Honorary pallbearers were all her many friends. Pallbearers were brothers, Sonny Gauthier and Kenny Gauthier; brothers-in-law, Wayne Brown and Bill Mosher; and nephews, Jason Mosher and Jonathan Mosher. Flower bearers were nieces, Melanie Barlow, Emily MacLean, Rae Anne Doiron, Michelle Clow and Michaela Richards. Interment took place following the service in the Church Cemetery where Father Palamattam conducted the committal service. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
