The funeral for Eddie Power was held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to St. Dunstan’s Basilica where the concelebra­ted funeral mass was offered by Fr. Philip Callaghan as chief celebrant and homilist. He was assisted by Fr. Charlie Cheverie. The funeral pall was placed on Eddie’s casket by daughter Marcy Gregory and son Derek Power. The first reading was proclaimed by Mary MacPhee and the second reading was proclaimed by Marlee Gregory. The prayers of intercessi­on were offered by Allie Ward. The funeral mass was sung by Alan Koughan. He rendered the procession­al hymn, This Alone, the offertory hymn, Song of Peter, the communion hymn, In the Garden, the meditation piece, Go Rest High On That Mountain and the recessiona­l piece, If We Ever Meet Again. The pallbearer­s were Robbie Power, Stephen Power, Jamie Power, Jared MacKinnon, Corey MacPhee and Dylan Power. The honorary pallbearer­s were Connie Doucette, Donnie Reeves, Jimmy Reeves, Billy Reeves, Mary Reeves, Gerard Ellsworth, Moe McCabe, Jim Kennedy, Rick Kennedy, Dave McAlduff, John Blanchard, Doug McNeil, Joey Toombs, Joe Pierce, Wayne Beaton, Mike Gauthier, Robert Campbell, Donna Mae Gallant, Wayne Reeves, Bernard Reeves, Brian Reeves, Cynthia Lawless, Barney & Brenda MacGuigan, Robert & Bonnie Mitchell, Tom & Dianna Corcoran, Ray & Rhonda Martin, Urban “Rabbit” MacDonald, Ruth & Bill Murphy, Bill & Georgina Mulligan, Vince Mulligan, Shane Dowling, Don FitzPatric­k, Allan Stewart and Lloyd Blanchard.
