Fundraiser
Evangeline Chase the Ace, put on by the Evangeline Recreation Centre, Acadian Musical Village and Mont Carmel Parish hold a Chase the Ace draw every Friday at Acadian Musical Village, AbramVillage. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the draw at 9 p.m. (estimated $16,500 in 41 cards). Entertainment this week is by Cathy Jackman, Jeff Coughin and Al Peters, 8-10 p.m. There is free admission. Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

The Christian Women’s club will be meeting for a Christmas

A Christmas service of carols, readings and special music is Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Upton Gospel Chapel at 7 p.m. Visitors will be welcomed by characters from Bethlehem Live. The chapel is located at 715 Clay Rd., Upton.

The Assumption Council of the Knights of Columbus in Stratford are hosting its 22nd annual Stratford and Area Seniors’ Christmas Tea and Carol Sing on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Assumption Parish Centre, 151 Stratford Rd., Stratford. The time of this year’s event is between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and all Stratford and Area seniors are welcome. There is no admission charge! There will be local entertainment to sing Christmas carols together. There also will be tea, sandwiches, sweets, door prizes and a visit by a special guest.
