Big weekend for Wild’s Fortin, MacArthur

Kensington beats Northern Moose, Fredericto­n Caps

Frank Fortin had a pair of goals and Colby MacArthur had a goal and three assists as the Kensington Wild downed the Northern Moose 6-2 Saturday in New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League action.

Ryan Richards (1-1), Marc Richard (1-1) and Nick Trainor also scored for the Wild.

Picking up single assists for Kensington were Zac Arsenault, Dixon MacLeod, Brad Campbell, William Pound and Carter Cahill.

Jarrett Wood and Brenden Milson replied for Northern.

Kensington outshot Northern 42-24.

Chad Arsenault picked up the win in net for the Wild while Isaak Pellelier and Alexandre Levesque split the goaltendin­g duties for the Moose.

On Friday, MacArthur’s hat trick and Fortin’s five-point night four assists propelled the Wild to a 7-2 victory over the Fredericto­n Caps.

Fortin finished the game with a goal and four assists.

It was also a big night for Richards of the Wild who picked up four assists.

Also scoring for Kensington were Ethan Beaulieu (1-2), Thomas Rennie and Zac Arsenault.

Picking up single assists were Chandler Wood, Marc Richard, Carter Cahill and Brad Campbell.

Antoni Matte had both goals for Fredericto­n while Nick Hood had a pair of assists.

The Wild outshot the Caps 41-29.

Caleb Coyle picked up the win in net for Kensington in front of 425 fans at Tignish Arena.

The Wild led 3-0 after the first period and 5-2 after the second frame.
