Vicki Reddin-Gauthier releases her first novel during Haviland Club event
Prince Edward Island author Vicki Reddin-Gauthier will launch “Emily’s Letters” at the Haviland Club in Charlottetown from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
In her first novel, ReddinGauthier offers to take the readers on an adventure from this world to the next. “Emily’s Letters” explores friendship, romantic love, the here and the here-after.
“Imagine if you could have one more conversation with friends and lovers now gone from this earth. One ‘I love you’, one rift healed, one cup of tea shared or even a bottle of wine.
“Emily’s spirit friends fill her dreams with sweet and bittersweet memories, blithe observations, and fierce debates, while reality works hard to keep Emily pinned to the stone and sand of Prince Edward Island’s coast,” says Reddin-Gauthier about her book.
Despite coping with personal losses and career uncertainties, Emily is determined to transform her life when, like a little tornado, an attractive young musician blows into her life.
Fortunately, in Emily’s Letters the dead have as much to say as the living and do their best to keep her out of the whirlwind that is Luke. They help her tell her story with an open and generous heart in a language that is sometimes quirky, sometimes salty, occasionally raw, and undeniably human, a news release states.
Curious about the dark and light corners of the mind, Reddin-Gauthier earned her degree in psychology from UPEI. Her life experience has given her many opportunities to think about both.
Now she explores the light and the dark in her writing, while finding humour along the way.
Reddin-Gauthier is currently working on her autobiographical book “C is for Cancer, C is for Caregiver”.
“Emily’s Letters” is also available in paperback at vickireddingauthier.com, or in paperback or e-book through most on-line outlets, including Amazon and Chapters Indigo.
