‘It’s about the hearts that we touch’

-

It’s December again! All the kids are excited. People are putting up their decorations and making a list for Santa. Don’t forget Santa is watching you. Moms are getting all the presents. Dads are doing something? People are making snowmen. The most important part is having fun. It Christmas Eve and everyone is sooo excited for presents. Lots of people wake up early to look at their presents. Did you know that Christmas isn’t about candy canes, holly, or light, it’s about the hearts that we touch and the care that we show and the whole reason we have Christmas- Jesus.

‘I hope you know why Christmas is magic!”

Do you know what makes Christmas magic? I do! I don’t know about you, but I find that everyone thinks Christmas is about presents and toys! But did you ever think about making someone’s day or even donating money to a charity or food to the food bank to help the poor? Only some people do their part in helping the poor! If everyone did their part in helping the poor, the poor would get what they need! That would definitely make 2017-18 Christmas magic!

Do you know not everyone celebrates Christmas the same way? So if someone doesn’t celebrate Christmas the same way as you, PLEASE do not make fun of them. If everyone celebrated the same way, Christmas would not be magic.

Every year when people decorate their store it lets off a beautiful magical smell! You know like the tree they set up and the scented ornaments they hang on it!

I hope you know why Christmas is magic! Gavin Oliver Grade 4

‘I hope I get a PS4’

Hi, what do you hope you get Christmas? I hope I get a PS4. If you don’t know what a PS4 is, it’s this thing that you put a game disc in and you play that game. On Christmas, I like getting presents because you get new things. Also, a good way to spend time with your family is to watch Christmas movies. In winter, I also like to play in the snow and have snow ball fights. So what are you asking for this Christmas? Do you even celebrate Christmas?

Christmas tree, decorating and gifts

AHH Christmas. Setting up my Christmas tree, decorating the house and also waking up and seeing the gifts. All these things make me look forward to Christmas time.

Setting up the tree: Every year we get a tree from Michaels, a green tree. It is my third favourite thing to do around Christmas time. Decorating the house: Decorating the house is well, hard but, it’s fun (sometimes). Every year we have to nail all the lights to the house to get them up IT’S A STRUGGLE but when we got a thing called an elf light it’s never been so easy to set up lights. You put in batteries and shove it in the ground.

Waking up and seeing all the gifts:

Now is my favourite thing about Christmas. Every Christmas Eve, I go to my grandfather’s to eat turkey dinner after that I go to my aunts’ to just chill out there with my cousins. When we go home, it’s about 7:30 p.m. and I go straight to bed because I’m excited! At 6:30 a.m. I’m up. I fail to jump out of bed “ouch” oh well, I go out and see gifts and then it takes me 10 minutes to open them!

Don’t you feel that magic tingling at you when Christmas nears?

Christmas doesn’t sparkle, but it sure is magical. The magic of laughter and joy is spread during Christmas. Come join me in the magic of Christmas. Being with family is extremely important because your family deeply loves you. Always be with them on Christmas. Decorating a unique tree is the key to Christmas. Trees are very fun to decorate. At my house, my dad turns on music then dances! Hehehe good times! Christmas is also the only time your elf comes out. My elf, Valentine, leaves letters on what he did over his holidays. Last year, he went to Hawaii, I think. No magic spell was cast for Christmas to be a thing now was it? But don’t you just feel that magic tingling at you when Christmas nears closer and closer? Christmas is always magical and please remember that.

‘The magic just never ends’

Have you ever felt Christmas magic??? I have. Every year Christmas is so magical. The air is freezing cold, but every building is so crispy warm. The magic just never ends. Hot cocoa with marshmallow hearts and chocolate chip cookies taste way better. At Christmas, you probably know the stores are full of people because everybody wants something at the last moment (I know from experience). You probably know it too, especially if you’re a kid. If you’re a parent, you know your kid never gets to sleep on Christmas night. Looking back, I remember last Christmas waking up to a big white quilt of snow. Walking downstairs to see my presents and our stockings was great!!! If you never felt Christmas magic, it is wonderful and I hope you feel it this Christmas! Nya Sutton Grade 4

The best day of my life

It all started one jolly night during the Christmas season. My mom and Dad and me always go to my aunt Lori’s house on Christmas Eve.

When we arrived, I ran in like a bull to the door. I knocked the door with my wet and freezing knuckles. My Mom and Dad opened the door for me. I took my boots off as I saw my nephew Tucker. About 1 hour later, we went to my Nana’s house to see my aunt Nikki because she lives in Halifax. The next thing I knew my Mom said time to go home sweet home.

When we arrived home, I opened the glass door and picked up the food that the reindeer eat. I sprinkle it all on the porch and SPLAT! It hit the ground. After, I got my hat and coat off. I ran to my room and got ready for bed. The next thing I realized it was Christmas morning. I dashed like a reindeer to my tree and saw all the parents under it.

At 1o.o7 a.m. all my nana’s and all my papa’s come over just for Christmas !!!!!! LOL. After 1 hour, we ate bacon and eggs for breakfast. I’m not lying it was the best day of my life. Michael Cudmore

I Saw Santa Claus

Did you know that there was a boy named Timmy Jorden that saw Santa? If not read on!

It was Christmas night and at this time, everybody is bundled up in their blankets. I was dreaming about stuffing my face with candy when BANG !!!!!! I suddenly jerked up with a fright.

Sure enough there was Santa Claus and his sleigh hanging off the side of my roof. He was holding a CCM Ribcore hockey stick. I thought Awesome that must be for me!!! He stomped over to the chimney (every time he walked his big belly jiggled like a bowl full of jelly). He squiggled down the chimney. I quickly leapt out of bed. I opened my door just a smidge so I could see what was going on.

The big jolly figure put the CCM stick under the tree first. Second he put a Graf hockey bag under the tree. When he was done he went straight to the cookies and milk (unknown fact: Santa eats the carrots that are supposed to be for the reindeer) !!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Yes moving on, I slowly crept out my door almost past the bathroom when “What Are You Doing?” boomed a jolly voice. He sounded happy? So we started chatting when suddenly I saw something moving in his sack. I charged full speed at it. Turns out it was just a furry dog but it was still insanely cute. Have a very Merry Christmas and off he went. HO HO HO

Ok, now you know how little Timmy saw Santa.

All of the great presents

Christmas is magic because of all the decorations and the bright and shiny lights. Santa will come down your chimney with all the gifts wrapped and eat the cookies and drink the milk.

On Christmas morning under the tree, all of the great presents you will see. You will want to open them right away, but your parents will want a picture first, and then they say you can open the presents and then you start ripping them open with a smile beaming across your face. Once you get to the final one- you open it and it’s what you have always wanted. You jump up and down, up and down. You thank your parents and start playing with it.

And that’s how Christmas is magic.

Christmas Day

Christmas is magical. Everyone is blessed to have warm, delicious food and a roof over their head. People are giving for the ones they love and the ones who need some love. Children are waiting patiently for jingle bells to play a song in their ear.

What a snowy winter it is outside of your homes. Each snowflake is making a thick, white blanket upon the ground for you to have a special wintertime.

People are merry, joyful and happy on Christmas Day. Emma Rae Burke

Christmas is Magical!

A white, fluffy blanket covers the green grass.

Coldness fills the air, cheeks turn bright red. Presents wrapped ever so tightly, secrets waiting to be revealed inside. They are sprawled across the floor. Doors open for family and friends. Food across the tables and candles lit brightly. Christmas trees standing still, brightly lit with ornaments and decorations. Children waiting for that one night every year when that old jolly man, Santa Claus comes to visit.

Do you believe?

Do you believe in Santa Claus that he comes when you’re asleep? Do you believe in elves that they build toys? Do you believe in reindeer that fly Santa to your house? Do you believe in Mrs. Claus that she makes cookies for all the hard working elves? Do you believe in yourself that you can do anything?

Happy holidays!

Different ways to celebrate Christmas

Every Christmas is a magical world, giving a green Christmas to every boy and girl. Santa putting presents under the beautiful Christmas tree while the kids are nice and cozy in their beds. All you can hear are carolers singing Christmas songs every day until Christmas. Joy every day until Santa comes to town. Then in the morning, you can hear Santa’s bells ringing and him yelling ho, ho, ho Merry Christmas!

My favourite thing about Christmas

One of my favourite things about Christmas is Santa Claus. The reason I like Santa Claus is because he brings big presents to all the kids around the world (especially the good kids). And on Christmas morning, you get really excited because there’ll be a big present under our crispy Christmas tree that has your name on it in big bold black letters, and smells like cinnamon. And in your head, you’re probably thinking, “Is it a bike or a sled? Hat or a sweater?” But once you open it, it’s something that you would never imagine… an awesome dirt bike! (At least that’s what I would like anyways). And all day you ride around on it and when it comes nighttime you pray to Santa Claus and God to tank them for bringing you the best Christmas ever!

Merry Christmas!

Popcorn elf

I woke up. Bang, bang, bang! What was that? Oh, right. Time to go to Mia and Maya’s house. I flew and flew then I met my friends, Jingles, Missy, Snowflake and Elsa. “Hi!” I yelled as I tried to catch up. “Oh, hi!” everybody called. “How are you?” I asked. “Great! I can’t wait to get to Shannon’s house!” shouted Snowflake. “I hope Sophie and Trixie make me a bed this year,” said Elsa. “I think Ruby has a little brother now!” exclaimed Jingles. “Nicole and Hudson are in sixth grade already!” whispered Missy. “Where are you going to be on the first day?” questioned Snowflake. “This is going to be really funny,” I said and whispered something to them. They all laughed. “Hey there’s Shannon’s house, bye!” And off she flew. “bye!” we called. Soon Mia’s house showed up. ”Well, bye! Bye Sohmin!” they called. I quietly got popcorn and filled the sink. Now jump! I thought in my head and jumped in.

Thud, thud, thud what was that? Oh, Maya. You know I should carry a popcorn till Christmas to snack on when Santa comes! I thought.

The next day

I held the biggest popcorn in my hands with the chocolate I stole [don’t tell Santa] and sat on the Christmas tree. Christmas Eve

Oh, hi! Sorry I missed a few days. Actually a lot of days but it’s alright. Right? It’s night and I have everything ready. My popcorn and chocolate. Santa’s here! He leaves two presents and off we go! I’ll miss you very much but I’ll be back soon!

Christmas with a mouse

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring just a little mouse, but this mouse had a plan to steal the cookies off the fat man’s plate.

Then he put his plan into action. First he climbed the frog and landed on the counter where the cookies were. The mouse started to celebrate until he heard a humongous noise coming from the chimney. The mouse felt his heart break and there he was Santa Claus.

Next the mouse took the cookie and ran into his hole. “Oh, little mouse can I have my cookie please?” cried Santa. “Why?” said the mouse. “Because you will get something special when you wake up.” “What is it?” said the mouse anxiously. “Something you won’t forget,” said Santa. “Ok,” said the mouse. “It is Christmas Eve after all” and the mouse passed the cookie to Santa and walked into his house with nothing. A tear rolled down his fairy face and rolled up in his blanket, which was just a leaf and fell asleep.

The next morning, the mouse looked down he gasped a real bed greeted his eyes. He looked over there and he saw a Christmas tree with presents under it! But one stood out the most it was a sack. He walked over to it and opened it. There he saw fresh cooked cookies. The mouse was celebrating, but outside there was Santa calling “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

Christmas is a miracle!!

It was Christmas Eve and Santa just finished packing and he said, “Rudolph, Jolly, Polly, Snow, Dasher, Dancer and Tinsel it is time to go and deliver some presents.” The reindeer came over to Santa to get strapped up for the journey.

As soon as Santa got into the sleigh, the reindeer took off into the sky. It was 10.30 p.m. and Santa had only been to 350 homes and he had quite a few more homes to go to yet.

All of a sudden Santa said, “We need to hide to all of the reindeer and myself. Jolly lead us under that deck of that brick house.” “Tooooo tooooo Santa heard a train,” said Polly. A few seconds later Santa heard somebody turned the corner and saw Santa then fainted. Santa said, “Hooo Hooo Hooo Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Just about that time, Santa flew right off to deliver some more presents to the people on the nice list. However, the people on the naughty list get nothing except a book, if they are lucky!!

Christmas crash Zavier

It was December 24, Christmas Eve. This was the busiest day for Santa Claus. Delivering presents house to house, hard work for the elves too!

“Finally!” said Santa. “One more present and I’m done.’’ The last name on the list was… someone named Lucas. “On Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen!”

Lucas lived in a big house. But then… “STOP RUDOLPH !!!!!!!! ” That infuriating, red-nosed reindeer had gone ballistic again! Before Santa could protest… CRASH !!!!!!!!! Santa’s sleigh smashed head first into the house. “OY” someone yelled. “I’m trying to sleep here!” “Sorry,” said Santa in a fake voice. “What is your name” the voice asked.

“Uhhhhhhh” said Santa, deep in thought. “Gerald Butts.” When Santa looked down, his sleigh was crumpled into pieces, thanks to Rudolph. “Uh Oh,” said Santa. The present Lucas asked for fell down, and the toy car fell into pieces, thanks to Rudolph.

Santa’s Buck

Santa used to only have Dancer, Dasher, Vixen, Comet, Blitzen, Cupid and Donder. But one day, Santa was in his rocking chair humming “jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.” Then he heard “zzzz”. The sound was coming from a buck. He looked out his window and saw it calling for his family again. The buck did the noise “zzzz” and Santa saw an unusual feature on the buck. The little baby buck had a red glowing nose. Santa thought about it, then called “Mrs. Clause!” Mrs. Claus came down and looked at what Santa was pointing at she said “Oh that poor little deer must be freezing.” Santa went outside and tried to get near the baby buck, but it started to step away. Santa got some acorns out of his pocket and gave them to the buck. The buck came forward and Santa quickly picked it up. The deer started yelling in distress trying to wriggle out of Santa’s grip, Santa held on. Soon, he was inside feeding the buck acorns and the buck was making a sound like “whaooooh” and Cupid responded in a non-threatening “whaooooh” sound too. Soon the baby buck grew and became a whitetail deer and Santa named him Rudolph.

That’s how Santa found Rudolph.
