The City of Summerside is seeking nomination­s for its culture and heritage awards program.

The awards recognize significan­t contributi­ons or achievemen­ts in the field of culture or heritage promotion, education or preservati­on in 2017.

Anyone can nominate individual­s or groups for a wide range of cultural or heritage projects such as events, artistic expression, publicatio­ns and more within 2017. For example, the result of these efforts may have taken the form of a book, performanc­es, a webpage or a heritage restoratio­n process.

Nominees will have exhibited a significan­t achievemen­t in heritage or cultural expression in Summerside or the area it serves.

Projects having one or more significan­t outside components must have a strongly rooted Summerside connection qualify for considerat­ion.

Nomination forms are available at MacNaught History Centre and Archives, 75 Spring Street, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or by email at fred.horne@city. summerside.pe.ca.

Completed nomination forms must be received at the MacNaught History Centre by 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.

The awards will be present in City Council Chambers during the Mayor’s Heritage Tea, on Friday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 p.m. to
