GALLANT, Teresa Margaret

The funeral for Teresa Gallant (nee MacSween), beloved wife of the late Ivan Gallant, of Villa Marguerite and formerly North Rustico, was held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico. The presider for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Alrulraj Santiago. The concelebrant was Reverend J.J. MacDonald, who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by her family. The first reading, from Wisdom, was addressed by grandson, Patrick Gallant. The second reading, from I Corinthians, was addressed by sister, Mary MacEachern. Prayers of the faithful were led by sisterin-law, Gwen Gallant. The altar servers were Peter Gallant, Estelle Bourgeois, Norman Gallant and Curtis Gallant. Faye Fyfe assisted Father Raj and Father MacDonald as Eucharistic minister. The music was provided by the church choir with Sister Phyllis Gallant, CND, as organist; and Noreen Down as song leader. The hymns were Entrance, Here I Am, Lord”; Psalm, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”, with Noreen Down as Cantor; Gospel Acclamation, “Celtic Alleluia”, with Noreen Down as Cantor; offertory, “Seek Ye First”; communion, Table of Plenty”; commendation, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessional, “Lord, Here You Are”. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Pallbearers were Hugh MacEachern, Patrick Gallant, John Pineau, Michael Bentley, Eric Gallant and Blair Doucette. Flower bearers were Marlene Kish, Noreen Pineau, Shirley Gallant, Carolyn LeClair and Rosemary Wilson. Interment will take place at a later date in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
