Plan ahead for the summer of 2018

Parks Canada camping reservations opening soon

-

Visitors planning their 2018 summer camping vacations in P.E.I. should mark their calendars.

Islanders and tourists can begin reserving campsites at Stanhope and Cavendish campgrounds for the 2018 season starting 8 a.m. AST Jan. 22.

Both Cavendish and Stanhope campgrounds are fewer than 100 metres from P.E.I. National Park beaches, trails and interpretive programs. Campers can enjoy upgraded facilities at both campgrounds, including new welcome centres and upgraded washrooms, larger serviced sites and improved trails. Visitors requiring accessible camping options can reserve several of the campgrounds’ accessible oTENTiks and campsites, which offer easy access to washroom and kitchen facilities.

The government of Canada is offering free admission to all Parks Canada’s places for youth 17 and under in 2018 and beyond. Parks Canada invites Canadian families and their children to experience the outdoors and learn more about environment and heritage.

The 2018 Parks Canada Discovery Pass is now on sale, providing access to these national treasures all year long. The Parks Canada Discovery Pass is the ideal way to discover nature and connect with Canada’s history. For information, visit the Parks Canada website.

Camping reservations can be made at www.reservations.parkscanada.gc.ca or by phone at 1-877-RESERVE (1-877-7373783).

To make the most of a visit, Parks Canada is inviting Canadians to plan their trip ahead of time.
