-

On Saturday, Music P.E.I. and La Fédération culturelle de l’Î.P.É. are joining forces to bring traditional, Acadian, and world music to the Carrefour in Charlottetown with the return of Music Mosaic.

The show starts at 2 p.m. The first Music Mosaic concert was presented as a partnership between Music P.E.I. and La Fédération culturelle de l’ÎPÉ in 2010 and, over the years, has featured a variety of performers.

In fact, one of the group from 2010 will be the headlining act.

Acadian world touring group Vishtèn returns to Music Mosaic with an impressive history of globetrotting, critical acclaim and awards.

The P.E.I. and the Îles de la Madeleine trio have garnered an international reputation for excellence as they have taken traditional Acadian music new heights.

Vishtèn will be joined by one of P.E.I.’s top musical exports,

Irish Mythen. The Irish-born, contemporary folk artist has toured extensively since arriving on P.E.I. about five years ago, gracing many stages and delighting audiences around the world.

Venezuelan musician Luis Anselmi will perform, showcasing his talents with the Venezuelan to cuatro, a four-string Spanish guitar, and the piano.

In addition, the Holland College SoPA Students World Music Ensemble, directed by Acadian musician and instructor Philippe Leblanc, will perform a mixture of traditional Celtic, Acadian and world music.

Also featured are two junior high students from the Philippines, who are newcomers to P.E.I. Ayessa Divina and Shericka Annang will each perform traditional music from their country.

Tiffany Liu from China will perform on the pipa, a fourstringed Chinese instrument, similar to a lute.

The doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at www.ticketpro.ca and at the Carrefour Theatre.
