David Blacquiere’s suspected killer still at large

Island man, 54, was fatally stabbed in a vehicle outside a drug store in Toronto

A man suspected of murdering David Blacquiere more than two months ago continues to elude police.

Toronto Police Service told The Guardian Friday that Christopher Enrique Gordon, who was 18 at the time of the offence, is still at large and is wanted on a Canadawide warrant for second-degree murder in connection to the homicide of Blacquiere on Nov. 14 in Toronto.

Blacquiuere, 54, of Angus, Ont., was fatally stabbed in a vehicle outside a drug store.

Darrell Blacquiere told The Guardian that his brother, David, who was an ironworker, had been planning to move back to P.E.I. in December to semi-retire and to continue to referee.

David was an avid referee in Ontario and had always embraced sports, Darrell noted in a November interview following the murder.

He went to Colonel Gray high school and played Island junior hockey with the Charlottetown Abbies and the Sherwood/Parkdale Metros.

Demetrius McFarquhar, who surrendered to police in late November, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, attempting to obstruct justice and failing to comply with recognizance.

A 16-year-old girl, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, also turned herself into police in November and was charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.
