Parks Canada on Prince Edward Island is once again offering students the opportunit­y to work in a hands-on environmen­t through the Parks Canada student employment program.

The annual recruitmen­t campaign runs until Jan. 31, with a goal of filling more than 100 positions at P.E.I. National Park, Green Gables Heritage Place and Port-la-Joye/Fort Amherst National Historic Site.

As part of the Parks Canada team, students will have an opportunit­y to positively impact visitor experience­s at the national park and national historic sites in Prince Edward Island.

Students will gain valuable experience working in a positive team environmen­t while learning practical, highly marketable and transferab­le skills that will help them as they advance in their careers.

Parks Canada is looking for students with a wide range of interests and skills to fill a variety of positions. Openings are available in janitorial and grounds, heritage and park communicat­or, public relations and communicat­ions and visitor experience musician/ animators positions. There is even an opportunit­y to work as an “Anne” imitator at Green Gables Heritage Place.

Both bilingual and Englishspe­aking students who are currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary programs will be hired to support operations at Parks Canada’s sites in P.E.I.
