Home and School Associations recognize teachers/staff who work with children on a daily basis

-

Home and School Associations in P.E.I. are joining together Feb. 12-16 to honour and celebrate the people who work with children on a daily basis to inspire and prepare them for life.

Parents, students and community members have been celebrating Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week right across Canada since 1988. Teachers and school staff spend countless hours building into the lives of our most precious resources. These individuals can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning.

In addition to recognizing all school staff who work with students in the education system, the P.E.I. Home and School Federation takes the opportunity during the week to highlight the outstanding contributions of individuals with the Home and School Federation’s Extra Mile Award. Awards will be presented to those who model what it means to go above and beyond the call of duty in their professions.

“Teachers, principals, administrative assistants, custodians, librarians, educational assistants, guidance counselors, youth workers, resource teachers and volunteers work hard to make our school communities thrive,” says Lisa MacDougall, president, P.E.I. Home and School Federation.

“Through their own commitment to lifelong learning, they inspire students to continue learning and make a lasting contribution to their lives.”
