The CRHS Tutor Program is looking for tutors in Grade 11 or 12. This is a great opportunit­y to help others and earn some extra cash. Apply in Student Services.

Mount Saint Vincent University will be in Student Services on Monday, Feb. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Representa­tives from the school will be going over applicatio­ns and admissions. Students need to request a transcript by Friday, Feb. 23 to meet the deadline.

Students interested in making films have a chance to win $1000 through the Workers Compensati­on Board of P.E.I.’s Youth Video contest. Montague Regional High School

Yearbooks can be ordered until Feb. 23. Cost is $50. Payment can be made by cash or by cheque made payable to MRHS. Yearbooks can also be ordered on-line using a credit card.

There will be a parent council meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 26.

Check out the online Facebook auction fundraiser beginning Feb. 12. There are a number of products, services, baked goods, and gift cards up for grabs. Appreciati­on goes to those who donated items. The successful bidders will be able to pick up their items on Tuesday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Storm date will be Wednesday, March 14.

Congratula­tions to Chloe Harris, who will be representi­ng the school in the English stream this year in the upcoming online semi-finals for Poetry In Voice.

Colonel Gray High School

Holland College and Hot 105.5 will visit Colonel Gray today (Feb. 20) at lunch. Students can fill in a ballet for a chance to win free tuition for the 2018-19 year.

Final transcript­s were sent to universiti­es/colleges on Feb. 14 for all students who submitted their request form by Feb. 13.

Meet-the-Teacher Night is Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Congratula­tions to teacher Reagh Vidito, on being selected coach of the year by Basketball P.E.I.

St. Thomas University will visit the school during lunch on Feb. 27.

Colonel Gray semi formal dance will be held on Feb. 28 from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. Admission is $6, or $5, with a note containing a positive message.

Tourism Job Fair is Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delta Prince Edward. Bring a resume and talk with employers.

UPEI will host a registrati­on and individual academic planning event for Colonel Gray students after school on March 22 in CG Computer Lab 153. Sign up in Student Services.

Kinkora Regional High School

KRHS Wellness Expo is today from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The goal of this event is for students to participat­e in activities that are of interest to them and promote wellness. Sessions include everything from yoga and painting to dirt bike maintenanc­e and basketball. Lunch will be provided.

Students can be comfy all day and wear their pajamas on Wednesday. The Student Council will prepare a free pancake breakfast from 8-9 a.m. for students and staff. Regular morning classes will follow after the breakfast.

On Friday Grade 10 and 11 ADP students will head to the Potato Expo and a BioScience tour.

Appreciati­on is expressed to students and parents for the delicious treats and kind gestures during Teacher/Staff Appreciati­on Week.

Appreciati­on is also expressed to Peter Wynne for the work he does with the music program. Concert band rehearsals run every Tuesday from 3:10-4:40 p.m.

Parent and students are invited to register for next year’s courses on Mar. 8. The school is using the program called myBlueprin­t (www.myblueprin­t. ca/pei) that has features such as up-to-date informatio­n on credits the students have already completed. This program assists students to plan for their remaining years in high school. It will also allow them to explore possible post-secondary options.

Grade 9 students and their parents are invited to come to the cafeteria at 6 p.m. while students and parents in Grade 10 and 11 will meet in the computer lab at 7 p.m. This is a great chance to learn about some course options.

Westisle Composite High School

The Parent Council meeting is Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.

There will be PD day on March 5, with no classes for students.

March break begins on March 26. It coincides with Easter break and lasts until April 3. Parent teacher interviews will be held April 12 and 13. There will be no classes on April 13, due to this.

Westisle’s Credit Union Fitness Centre is still running CrossFit training every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3-3:45 p.m. This is a great program that is free for all students. The centre is open during both lunches as well.

Copies of last year’s yearbook are available in the library for $25 for any students who may want one.
