A service of celebratio­n for the life of Verna MacMillan (nee Stetson), beloved wife of Norman MacMillan, formerly of Clyde River, was held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Faith Bible Church, East Royalty. The service was conducted by Reverend Jonathan Dart, who offered prayer, gave words of comfort to the family in his message and also shared memories from the family. The Pianist was Monia Willis. The scripture selections that were read by Reverend Dart included: John 14:1-6, Revelation 14:13 and Revelation 21:17. A letter of remembranc­e from granddaugh­ter, Kristin Stewart was read by daughter, Mary Lu MacPhee. The congregati­onal hymns were: “Blessed Assurance”, “Amazing Grace” and “I Am Thine, O Lord”. Granddaugh­ters, Sarah MacPhee, Erica Colson and Emily MacMillan rendered the hymn, “In Christ Alone”. Honorary Pallbearer­s were Dale and Margaret Gallagher, Mervin and Joyce MacPhee, Ray and Carolyn Murphy, Keith and Doris MacDougall, Leroy and Joyce MacLeod and Bill Meggison. Pallbearer­s were sons-in-law, Clarence Frizzell and Lindsay MacPhee; and grandsons, Kris MacPhee, Ryan MacPhee, Joshua MacMillan and Jonah MacMillan. Flower Bearers were granddaugh­ters, Kristin Stewart, Allison Frizzell, Sarah MacPhee, Emily MacMillan and Erica Colson. Interment will take place at a later date in Springfiel­d West Baptist Cemetery, O’Leary Arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, P.E.I.
