QP.E.I. will mark the 57th celebratio­n of World Theatre Day on the afternoon of March 17 at the Carrefour Theatre, Charlottet­own, with the annual Community Theatre Festival. The lineup includes The Murray Players - “Any Body for Tea”, 1 p.m.; Nadine Salami and Friends - “Ma meilleure amie, ma meilleure ennemie”, 1:45 p.m.; The Tracadie Players - “News Mix at Six”, 2:30 p.m.; Spotlight School of Arts - “Improv Fun!”, 3:10 p.m.; A.C.T. QFallback plays 1950s/60s dance music at The Factory, 189 Kent St., Charlottet­own, every Friday, 8-11 p.m., in March. A cover charge is at the door.

St. Patrick’s Dance is March 16, 8-11 p.m., at the North Rustico Seniors Club. Music is by Friends of the Irish with Norman LeClair, Leo Gallant and Randy Cheverie. Admission is by donation at the door. All those 19 years and over are welcome.

Island filmmaker John Hopkins will introduce his award-winning film, “Bluefin”, in Charlottet­own on March 25, 2 p.m., in Room 242 of MacDougall Hall, UPEI. Filmed in North Lake, P.E.I., the documentar­y explores the baffling mystery of a sudden abundance of tuna off the shores of eastern Prince Edward Island, despite scientific assessment­s claiming tuna stocks are substantia­lly depleted. This screening is hosted by the UPEI Environmen­tal Society, Save our Seas and Shores P.E.I. and Cinema Politica Charlottet­own. Admission by donation. The Prince Edward Island Regiment Museum at the Queen Charlotte Armoury on 3 Haviland St. in Charlottet­own features “From Vimy to Juno”, a new travelling display and exhibit that provides an opportunit­y for visitors of all ages to learn about Canada’s role in the First and Second World Wars. It also draws parallels between the two World Wars and examines Canada as a nation from 1914 to 1945. Playing with Choir is Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m., at The Guild in Charlottet­own. Playing with Choir is an opportunit­y to come together in a large group to learn simple three-part harmonies for popular songs of today and past decades and belt them out for the simple joy of singing. No auditions, no solos, no stars, just fun.
