QP.E.I. will mark the 57th celebration of World Theatre Day on the afternoon of March 17 at the Carrefour Theatre, Charlottetown, with the annual Community Theatre Festival. Island filmmaker John Hopkins will introduce his award-winning film, “Bluefin”, in Charlottetown on March 25, 2 p.m., in Room 242 of MacDougall Hall, UPEI. Filmed in North Lake, P.E.I., the documentary explores the baffling mystery of a sudden abundance of tuna off the shores of eastern Prince Edward Island, despite scientific assessments claiming tuna stocks are substantially depleted. This screening is hosted by the UPEI Environmental Society, Save our Seas and Shores P.E.I. and Cinema Politica Charlottetown. Admission by donation. The Prince Edward Island Regiment Museum at the Queen Charlotte Armoury on 3 Haviland St. in Charlottetown features “From Vimy to Juno”, a new travelling display and exhibit that provides an opportunity for visitors of all ages to learn about Canada’s role in the First and Second World Wars. It also draws parallels between the two World Wars and examines Canada as a nation from 1914 to 1945.
