CEILIDHS/JAMBOREES/ KITCHEN PARTIES

Come and join the fun at St. Patty’s Irish Night with Michael Pendergast (The Music Man) at Kinkora Place on March 16, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Green beer and chicken wings will be available. Admission is $10.

The Benevolent Irish Society is holding a variety show in honour of St. Patrick’s Day, March 16, 7:30-10:30 p.m., at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Rd., Charlottet­own. It is hosted by BIS president Patrick Fitzgerald, along with Dr. Cian O Morain. Performers include Thomas Harrington, Cailyn MacAulay, Bethany Pineau, Dominik Pineau, Libby Smith, Kevin Chaisson and Lana Quinn, along with Luis Anselmi, Tuli Porcher, Diego Perez, Enrique Lloreda and Calum Brydon, who are all students in the music performanc­e program at Holland College’s School of Performing Arts. There will be a 50/50 draw during the evening which includes a very special “Pot of Gold”. A light lunch is served. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 at the door. Children 12 and under are $5. Ceilidhs are Fridays at St. Peters Circle Club, St. Peters, 7:30-11 p.m., with local entertainm­ent. Admission is $5.

Legion kitchen party is at the Summerside Legion, March 17, 2-5 p.m., featuring Larry Campbell

A new kitchen party is at the St. Eleanors Lions Club Saturdays, 8-11 p.m., with Country Roadrunner (Donna Lee Perry). Open mic is at 9:30 p.m., so bring an instrument or just sing along.

Saturday ceilidh is at St. Joachim’s Hall, Vernon River, March 17, 8-11 p.m., with a 50-50 draw and a light lunch. In case of a winter storm, the next ceilidh will be held the following Saturday evening. Call Dale Campbell at 902-659-2554 for informatio­n.

The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, will be having a ceilidh on March 18, 1:30 p.m., with Colleen MacPhee, Billy Matthews, Judy Lowe and Dave Berrigan. Admission is $10, and there will be a 50/50 draw. A light lunch will be available. Door opens at 1 p.m. Proceeds help support centre activities.

Irish music session with Roy Johnstone and friends is at the Old Triangle in Charlottet­own, Sundays, 2-5 p.m. Players are welcome. Acoustic music jam is every Sunday, 2-8:30 p.m., at the Acadian Musical Village (Expo-Centre), Abram-Village, organized by the Acadian Musical Village and the Evangeline Bluegrass Festival. Admission is $3 (adults only) with supper served at 5 p.m. for $10. There is also a door prize and a 50/50 draw. Call 902-854-2324.

A ceilidh is in Kelly’s Cross at the community centre on March 18, 7 p.m., with Ann Cudmore as emcee. Music will be by the Centre House Band (Elmer Doiron, Bill Campbell, Gertie Campbell, Mike Johnson, Dorothy Farish). Guests will be Pat Molyneaux , Mike Johnson, Vince Keoughan, Allan Keoughan and Howard McMaster, as well as the band, “Just passing Time” with Guy Robichaud, Becky Allain, Roger Smith and Darke Carr. The centre, which is wheelchair accessible, is at 1475, Route 13, Kelly’s Cross. Admission at the door will include a light lunch, tea and coffee. There will also be a 50/50 draw.

St Patrick’s Kitchen Party is at St. Margaret’s Hall on March 18, 8 p.m., with music by Rannie, Kevin and Urban. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 draw and lunch. Admission is $8.

Kitchen party-style entertainm­ent, featuring classic rock, country and anything else, is at The Shed, Slemon Park Hotel and Conference Centre, every Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. New talent is always welcome. There is free admission (for adults of any age). Call Kim, 902-888-7192.
