The funeral mass for Karen Nicholson was celebrated Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from Hillsboro Funeral Home to St. Eugene’s Church, Covehead with Fr. Keith Kennific as Chief Celebrant proclaiming the gospel and delivering the homily. The pall was placed by father - Frank Nicholson and father-in-law - Ali Abbasi. The first reading was read by Ramsha Abbasi; second reading by Mary Nicholson and prayers of intercession by Justin Nicholson. Music was provided by St. Eugene’s Parish Choir accompanied by organist - Bernie Lamphier and psalmist - Kim Albert. The processional hymn was “Be Not Afraid”; responsorial psalm - “The Lord is my Shepherd”; offertory - “Only a Shadow”; communion - “Here I am Lord”; incense - “Songs of the Angels” and the recessional hymn was “We Shall Go Out”. The Gift Bearers were Marilyn and Morgan MacDonald. The Eucharistic Minister was Bill Soper and the altar servers were Brian Misener, Jan Meulenkamp, Phil Arbing and John Hughes. The Pallbearers were Justin Nicholson, Ramsha Abbasi, Owen MacDonald, Talha Abbasi, Simon Tousignant and Raza Saiyidain. Interment followed at St. Eugene’s Cemetery with Fr. Charlie Cheverie delivering the graveside prayers. Following interment, relatives and friends were invited to join the family at York Community Center for refreshments provided by St. Eugene’s hospitality committee. Completion of funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
