O’SHEA, Maurice Ambrose
The funeral mass for Maurice O’Shea was celebrated Saturday, March 10, 2018, from Hillsboro Funeral Home to St. Michael’s Church, Iona with Fr. Gerard Chaisson as chief celebrant proclaiming the gospel and delivering the homily. The Pall was placed by family members. The first reading was proclaimed by Leah Munro; second reading by Donna MacDonald and prayers of intercession by Sheila O’Shea. Music was provided by Music Director - Justin Simard. The processional hymn was “How Great Thou Art”, responsorial psalm - “The Lord is my Shepherd”, offertory - “The Old Rugged Cross” and communion - “On Eagle’s Wings”. For the meditation - Amy Swanson and Madison Howe played a violin selection - Iona Corner Waltz, composed by Maurice O’Shea. The Recessional was violin selections by Allan MacDonald, Ward MacDonald, Rannie MacLellan, Buddy Longaphie and completed by Piper - Brady Singleton. The Eucharistic Minister was George O’Shea and altar servers were Jack Munroe and Clifford Flynn. The gift bearers were Donna, Kenny, Ben, Carson and Angi MacDonald. The pallbearers were son Mike O’Shea, nephew - George O’Shea, sons-in-law - Gino Maratt and Brian Klatzel and family friends - Jimmy Paquet and Kenny MacDonald. Interment followed at St. Michael’s Cemetery with Fr. Gerard Chaisson delivering the graveside prayers. Following the Interment, relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family in the Iona Hall for refreshments, provided by St. Michael’s Parish CWL. Completion of funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
