Two $1,500 bursaries for students in the health field

-

For the fourth consecutive year, the P.E.I. French Health Network (PEIFHN) has announced it will be awarding two $1,500 bursaries to Prince Edward Island francophone or francophile students enrolled in a post-secondary health program for 2018–2019.

Students who register in the PEIFHN health student database automatically become eligible to win one of the two $1,500 bursaries.

The database will allow the network to provide these students with information about training and employment opportunities in Prince Edward Island.

One of the bursaries will be awarded to a first-year student starting a program in the field of health in a post-secondary institution in the 2018–2019 academic year. The other will be awarded to a student who has already started a post- secondary program in the field of health and will continue in 2018–2019.

Every year, the network shares its list of bilingual students with the Department of Health and Wellness’s Recruitment and Retention Secretariat, which also informs students of training and employment opportunities in the province.

Interested students have until May 31 to fill out the short participation form at www. santeipe.ca. To be eligible, the student must be a permanent resident of Prince Edward Island (holder of a Prince Edward Island health card – those who have a health card because of a student visa are not eligible), be registered in a post-secondary health program (in French or in English), be fluent in French and accept to be added to the database in order to be kept informed about training and employment opportunities on the Island.

The bursaries will be randomly drawn in early June 2018 among all applications received.

For more information on the bursaries or on the health student database, contact Patricia Richard at 902-854-7444 or info@santeipe.ca.
