Kent Hudson new executive director of the Community Foundation of P.E.I.
The Community Foundation of P.E.I. (CFPEI) has announced that Kent Hudson is the new executive director.
Hudson comes to the organization with over 20 years of senior management experience in private sector, public sector and not-for-profit sector. Most recently, he had been focused on building his private management consulting and event management firm.
“He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of management and fundraising and has a tremendous background in relationship building which is imperative in our organization,” said John Robinson, president of CFPEI.
As one of the 191 Community Foundations in Canada, the CFPEI helps Islanders invest in making P.E.I. an even better place to live, work and play by championing the issues that matter to Islanders, now and for future generations. CFPEI will continue to constantly explore new ways to work collaboratively with partners and donors who share this vision.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join this fantastic communityminded organization. CFPEI has truly done exceptional work for the betterment of the entire P.E.I. community and I look forward to building on so many positive aspects that are already in place,” says Hudson.
For 25 years, the CFPEI has provided a user-friendly vehicle for donors to create endowment funds to support charitable activities. The foundation currently manages over 70 individual funds with a combined value approaching $10,000,000. In 2017, the foundation awarded 164 grants and scholarships totaling more than $500,000 to individuals and organizations to support health, education, sports, the arts, and the environment through-out the province.
“It is truly remarkable to get a better understanding of the many donors that have created philanthropic funds and gifts within the foundation and to see the positive effects this has on our community,” says Hudson.
