Stratford residents can purchase commemorative stones at new park

-

Stratford residents and businesses have a chance leave a lasting impression on the town’s new skate park.

The town expects to award the construction tender this month for the new park, which will be built next to the Stratford Town Centre. The target completion date is this fall.

The ongoing fundraising efforts are now focused on developing the “Pathway of Support” paver stone campaign. Residents, businesses and organizations can purchase an em graved commemorative stone that will be included in a pathway at the skate park.

The “Pathway of Support” program launched Saturday. Stones are no available for purchase for $100 each.

A link to the application form can be found at www. townofstratford.ca, and forms can be completed in person during Town of Stratford office hours.

Commemorative paver stones will be available for sale until June 30.

“The commemorative paver stones will be on display for years to come around the site and are a great way to recognize a loved one, represent yourself or family, or show support from your business or organization,” said Coun. Gail MacDonald.

The Stratford Skatepark will be a multi-use skatepark with features for skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX biking, which were identified as priorities by the youth in Stratford for a number of years.

Landscaping features are also planned to ensure the park blends in nicely with the surroundings.
